IT Hardware Bin is a robust and scalable e-commerce platform specializing in bulk hardware products for both B2B and B2C customers. Developed as a two-member team project, the platform was designed to act as a one-stop solution for sourcing and purchasing hardware inventory at scale.
With over 2,000+ products spread across multiple categories and subcategories, the platform delivers a streamlined shopping experience with advanced search, filtering, and product categorization features.
A key feature is the custom “Get a Quote” system, enabling bulk buyers to submit detailed requirements for tailored pricing — a solution specifically developed for wholesale purchasing scenarios where standard cart checkout may not fit.
The admin panel is fully equipped to manage inventory, product categories, orders, and customer requests. It includes tools for bulk uploads, price management, inventory tracking, and quote management, allowing the business to operate efficiently and scale its product database with ease.

Managing 2,000+ products across various categories without compromising site performance or navigation speed.

Designed an optimized database schema with indexed queries, implemented AJAX-based filtering for faster results, and introduced a multi-level category structure for better organization.
Bulk Order Quoting System:

Traditional e-commerce checkout workflows weren’t suitable for bulk buyers needing customized pricing.
Solution:
Developed a custom "Get a Quote" feature that allowed customers to submit detailed product requirements directly from product pages or the cart. Integrated this with the admin panel for quote creation, approval, and client communication.
Admin Panel Usability & Efficiency:

Creating a backend system that could handle vast data sets without being overly complex for staff.
Solution:
Built a role-based responsive admin panel with bulk import/export capabilities, inline editing for faster updates, and inventory tracking dashboards.
Maintaining Performance with High Data Load:

High volume of product data and images risked slowing down page loads.

Used lazy loading for product images, compressed media files, and applied server-side pagination to handle large query results.

Post-launch, the website showcased over 2,000+ products while maintaining fast performance, intuitive navigation, and a professional look. The admin panel enhancements empowered the business to efficiently manage large inventories, handle custom pricing requests, and maintain consistent communication with clients.
The project strengthened my team collaboration skills, as I coordinated with a fellow developer to divide responsibilities — one focusing on backend logic and the other on UI/UX flow and integrations. Today, IT Hardware Bin continues to operate as an effective hardware sourcing solution in its market niche.
